With the end of the semester nearing and the weather worsening, An/Archae is winding down our collections and starting to consider what we should do with all the trash artifacts we have collected.
Our policy has always been to collect every artifact with only a few exceptions. Chewed gum is not collected due to hygiene concerns and organic items are not collected due to preservation issues. Most organic items such as banana peels or apple cores are recorded and given a catalog number; they are simply not bagged and kept.
